Further Info

Always with an eye for detail and distortion, Beatrice explores the beautiful and the grotesque in a celebration of the strange and the macabre.

Beatrice works in a wide range of media, including pencil and inks, watercolour and oil on canvas and always explores subjects with her sensitive, slightly surrealist touch. Over the last year, her work has begun to break away form the flat realm of paper and canvas and has transmogrified into a menagerie of sculpted, creatures with transfixed expressions, staring glass eyes and vivid, open mouths. With an interest in narrative, folklore and mythology, she aims to bring to life the strangest inhabitants of the mind, inviting the viewer to evolve their own stories to explain the presence of these creatures.

She studied Fine Art at the University College Falmouth, graduating in 2008. Since then she has moved back to her home in Somerset to establish herself as a practicing artist. She is also currently illustrating a number of books, including a few children’s stories, and is open to art, illustration and portrait commissions.
